The Beamer Lady Titans kicked off the 2013 season with a 3-0 win over 2A powerhouse Fife High School. Megan Huff led Beamer with 14 kills, 7 digs. Sophomore Camryn Skari added 6 kills, 5 digs. Tennesse transfer Reed Copleand also chipped in with 5 kills and 4 blocks. The Trojans are typically playoff bound and have won multiple State Championships in their long history and have a handful of talented players including standout Junior Eva Linden. This was a good start and good win for us! We are looking forward to continuing to improve!
Jamboree is a time to tinker with our lineup and test drive what we’ve been hard at work in the gym the past two weeks. We have some things to work on as does every other team but I am really pleased with what we are starting with. Started off with a loss to Bethel (16-25), a win against Mount Rainier (25-17), win against Franklin Pierce (25-8), loss against Kentwood (22-25), loss against Fife (23-25) and loss against GK (18-25); finishing with a 2-4 record at the jamboree.
Here are some photos of our September 8th hike up Rattlesnake Ridge out in Northbend!
We had a great time! View was awesome from above, although we did hear a lot of complaints on the way up!
Pictures tomorrow! Bring both uniforms and your picture packet! JV starts pictures at 3:30 and Varsity will start at 4.
We’ve been working hard these past couple of weeks and I’m excited to see how we measure up with some of the teams in our league. Jamboree is always exciting since it’s our first glimpse at the competition and our first test run. It gives us a chance to tinker with our line up. Get some rest girls! Bus leaves at 7:15 am…
Tryouts can be a little nerve-racking from both a coaching and player perspective. Big “Thank You” to all the students that participated. As a coach, I couldn’t wait until tryouts got here and now I’m just glad it’s over and our teams have been selected. We have been impressed by the athleticism we have in the gym at the Varsity level and equally so by the potential talent we have with players that were selected at the JV level. There are many players we feel will be very good volleyball players in a year or two down the road. We are excited to get to work with our teams and hope to see team chemistry take its course and are looking forward to some exciting times for Beamer volleyball!

Just wanted to say that we are looking forward to the Fall season! We graduated 5 senior players in 2013 and felt we would have a difficult time replacing many of them. We have been pleased with the incoming class especially with their improvement over the summer session. Looking forward to a promising season!

Returning Beamer Varsity Players Megan Huff and Aliya Ranis are bringing home a “Gold” & “Silver” medal for their team’s outstanding finish at the 2013 Girls Junior National Championships in Dallas Texas this past week! Aliya’s plays Libero for KJ 17, who had a terrific tournament getting to the Championship match and finishing 2nd in the 17 American Division. Megan Huff plays for Puget Sound 17, and was amazing playing all 6 rotations as a Middle Hitter, and catching the eye of several D1 college recruiters from successful volleyball programs, her team played incredible all tournament long finishing 1st in the 17 Patriot Division. Beamer has some very talented players returning in the Fall!
Reminder, we are hosting a local summer league on Saturday June 22 and July 6. We need to be there a little before 2pm to setup the nets and will start as soon as the other teams arrive.
